Purist Cubic Upside-Down Stand for Deodorant Roll-On Bottle
thingiverse
Do you know those deodorant bottles with a spherical cap? They are a perfect example for form not following function! Having them upright is a terrible waste of time in the morning, especially when they're half-empty - or half-full, depending on your view on that kind of things: you have to wait till the fluid on the inside has reached the roll-on ball. So I designed this simple upside-down stand. There is a ready-made cylindrical version: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2743048 And there is a customizer online: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2743081 Enjoy, have fun remixing it and let me know when you've made one, and what it looks like! ---------- I use these deodorant roll-ons that have a half-spherical cap. The design of the packaging is a perfect counterexample to "form follows function": as soon as the bottle is only half-empty (or half-full), it takes an eternity for the contents to reach the ball - especially in the morning, when the head is not yet so quick. Due to the round cap, the bottle cannot be stored upside down. I designed this simple stand, with which deodorant roll-ons can be stored upside down. This is the "purist-cubistic" variant. There is also a finished cylindrical version: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2743048... and a customizer: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2743081. If you have made one, let me know through "I Made One"! Designed in OpenSCAD.
