Purell Wall Mount
thingiverse
My work environment remains operational despite the coronavirus situation. To facilitate hand sanitizing for everyone who touches doorknobs, I designed wall mounts for 8oz Purell pump bottles to make it easier. These mounts are intended to be helpful for anyone not allowed to telework. They can be attached to the wall using two 5lb 3M Command Strips. Two .stl files have been included: - "v3" has crisscrossed walls and prints as-is without supports, taking about 2.5 hours with the fast/draft setting on the Lulzbot. The fit is snug, but you can scale the .stl to prefer a looser fit. - "v4" is more minimal and printed in just 1.5 hours on the fast/draft setting. I rotated the .stl model 90 degrees onto its back and did not use supports. There was some drooping at the top bridge, and the "Hand Sanitizer" engraved text label came out poorly. The item adhered very tightly to the print bed but managed to pry it off. Despite all this, the item functions well with minimal print time! Using a thinner layer height and speed may have allowed for better aesthetics. Note that the v4 horizontal cross-section is hexagonal like Purell bottles at my workplace, so other brands may not fit without editing/scaling the design. Designed in Tinkercad
