Here's a puppet eye control rig we developed for a Cyclops Alien puppet named Eyezak in a kid's webseries called Janet's Planet, which was part of NASA's New Horizons mission to Pluto. To create this rig, we used rubber bands around the tip grip and cage to spring the eye back into its center position. This design requires significant strength from your hand muscles, but it may prove useful for anyone building a similar control system.
