Punta Mogotes Lighthouse

Punta Mogotes Lighthouse

thingiverse

Started as a Fusion 360 exercise, this project ended up being an exact replica of the Punta Mogotes Lighthouse. Located in Mar del Plata, this iconic lighthouse stands at 36 meters high. Originally designed in France during the 19th century, it played a crucial role in warning sailors about underwater rocks that had caused numerous shipwrecks in the area. This model can be printed into multiple parts without requiring any supports. Printing is straightforward, but special attention should be given to "The Hollow Thing.stl" file. To achieve optimal results, use a layer height of 0.07 or 0.1 and take necessary precautions to avoid stringing issues. For added flexibility, the floor can be detached, allowing for the option of installing a rotating light later on. The stairs are also divided into two sections, giving users the choice of printing either part or both. Most parts will fit together seamlessly, with the exception of the lower and upper towers, which may require some assistance from glue to assemble properly. To ensure correct alignment, it is recommended to apply elephant foot compensation in your slicing software. The three pitutos are designed for aligning and gluing the top tower to the medium tower, ensuring a secure and stable structure.
