sketchfab
This remarkable punctated pipe stem originated from the Consol site, a traditional Monongahela village. Recovered through archaeological excavation by members of the Westmoreland Archaeological Society, a chapter of the esteemed Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology (SPA), this artifact has garnered significant attention. In conversation with Ronald Williamson at the 2014 SPA meeting, he pointed out that this pipe bears a striking resemblance to early Iroquoian pipes dating back to the 13th century AD, which were discovered in an area situated between London and Toronto, Canada.
