Bring a Jack-o'-Lantern to Life with a Battery-Powered Surprise! Print Half of the Holder Separately, Add "BOO" and a Frightful Bat Design on the Back. Happy Spooky Halloween! Overview and Background In this activity, students will craft a pumpkin with a removable lid and a battery-powered surprise, adding an element of excitement to their Halloween decorations. Lesson Plan and Activity 1. Create a Pumpkin with a Lid: Students will design and build a pumpkin with a hinged lid, allowing them to easily access the inside. 2. Add a Battery Holder: Print half of the battery holder separately, then assemble it around a set of batteries. This will power a small LED light or other device that will be placed inside the pumpkin. 3. Decorate the Back: Use paint or markers to add a spooky design, such as a bat, on the back of the battery holder. The words "BOO" can also be added for an extra frightful touch. 4. Insert the Batteries and Light Up the Pumpkin: Once the batteries are inserted, the light will illuminate from within the pumpkin, creating a spooky glow.
