It's that time of year again! Enter Polymaker Pumpkin, a fun project for hands-free post-processing. The Polymaker Pumpkin was printed in PolySmooth and post-processed in the Polysher before being spray-painted with an airbrush. Watch as support scars on the underside of the pumpkin blend into a smooth uniform surface, then flip your pumpkin over and polysh the top surface. Included in the STL files is a small stand to polish the underside of your pumpkin; we recommend polishing the underside first, but remember not to print the polyshing stand in PolySmooth or it will fuse to your model. We used PolyMax PLA. Watch the painting and polishing tutorial here: https://youtu.be/xA8ry8paJoQ The geometry of this model really showcases the capability of the Polysher to eliminate layer lines even at 0.2mm layer height and on very acute slopes. Horizontal surfaces become completely smoothed, creating a tactile glossy model, while vertical surfaces require less polishing due to tighter layers. Individual parts were then spray-painted straight onto the PolySmooth surface. PolySmooth takes paints really well; no priming is necessary. Once the model has been polished, the paint bonds extremely well to the material. Allow the model to air dry for 24 hours before applying your first coat. You can then use IPA to bond the stick to the model.
