Pumice sample originating from Obsidian Dome, located in Mono County, California. This geological feature erupted around 1350 CE and is considered one of the most precisely dated prehistoric volcanic eruptions globally. Using dendrochronology methods, Millar and his team discovered that the eruption occurred during late summer of 1350 CE. The sample was photographed on-site for documentation purposes. https://volcanoes.usgs.gov/volcanoes/long_valley/long_valley_sub_page_19.html Geochemical information: https://www.geochemsoc.org/files/7414/1269/7673/SP-3_339-354_Taylor.pdf
