Puma 6x6 (Italy)
thingiverse
This is a 1:76 model of the Italian Puma 6x6 personnel carrier, with approximately 320 units put into service. The design is based on a shell model offered in the SketchUp library by Empy, to whom my sincere thanks are extended. A considerable amount of work has been invested, as the original model lacked completion, but fortunately it appears to have been successfully rectified. The hull has been divided into two sections for ease of printing, and the wheels should be printed separately. This arrangement seems to function well. The cupola MG is made available, although you may already possess a superior model (please consider sharing...). These weapons often pose challenges in this scale! Developed using Sketchup and 3D Builder as usual, with MiniMagics utilized for dimension checks, etc. A minor adjustment was necessary to match the published dimensions, specifically the width of the model. An effort is being made to create a 4x4 version, but it turns out to be quite different... I hope this development will be of interest. Enjoy! Following Japim's helpful suggestion, a version with the hull split vertically has been included, which should yield a smoother finish for the glacis plate at the front, albeit at the cost of a seam down the middle. A test print will soon be attempted.
