Pulse 15e snow skis

I am completely obsessed with my Pulse 15e airplane! There's nothing I enjoy more than switching the landing gear into tricycle configuration and taking off and landing over and over again, it's a thrill like no other. The pulseski.stl model I'm using has super thin skis that are incredibly flexible - just check out the picture to see for yourself. They're perfect for what I need, but I haven't had a chance to test them out yet. Just in case the thin skis aren't sturdy enough, I also have the pulseski2.stl model with twice as thick skis. A simple rubber band keeps the ski tips raised up and looking great. The box of the skis limits how far they can rotate forward or backward, which is a nice safety feature. I'll be sure to update this post as soon as I get some snow on the ground so I can test out my new Pulse 15e skis in action! After printing them, I dip the tips into hot water for just a few seconds and then shape them with a slight upward angle using the edge of a dinner plate. It's a simple process that makes all the difference. I've also included the Sketchup file if you want to take a closer look at the design. The bolt that holds the wheel will be repurposed as the ski holder, it's a great example of how we can reduce waste and get creative with our DIY projects. And the best part? It only costs $139 for the PNP version! You can find more info on the Pulse 14M PNP here: https://www.horizonhobby.com/product/storefronts/plug-n-play/rc-outlet/pulse-14m-pnp-fcef28000 Update 12/31/2017: I was expecting as much, but it turns out that the skis don't work very well in powder snow. They need a solid ice shell on top or a road underneath to function properly. Update 1/20/2018: But wait, there's good news! The thin skis are actually working great - check out this video for proof: https://youtu.be/Wy4-OzdzrBQ
