Pulley Collection
myminifactory
While building my Halbach PM generator, I encountered a challenge that could only be overcome through testing and I knew just the thing - those newspaper rubber bands I collect from work. I've seen various pulley sets online but with some free time on my hands, I decided to design my own set that transitions smoothly from 37mm to 125mm. This design also includes multi-speed pulleys, all centered around a M10 bolt, the same one used in the heart of my PM generator. I've included the Blender file for anyone looking to experiment with it and as always, scaling should be set at 10% since I work in CM and it's actually MM. There are two distinct sets of pulleys designed to cap off the hub and enclose the bolt head or ride the bolt itself while using the hub to lock the bolt head to the pulley. The only difference lies in the center hole, with one set having a 10MM hole for riding the bolt. The smaller holes on the hub are intended for 3MM threaded objects like allthread, pan screws, and bolts, which fit snugly without requiring nuts. Future plans include designing a derailer similar to those found on bicycles, utilizing the combo gear sets to change speed on the fly with a 9G servo, hopefully starting tomorrow.
