Pull-up Bar

Pull-up Bar

thingiverse

My son and I constructed a simple pull-up bar for our garage using 3/4" iron 'black pipe' commonly found in household gas lines. This bar stands 7' 3" from the floor, but you can adjust the length of the middle uprights to suit your height. We used various pipes, elbows, tees, close nipples, unions, and nipples as well as athletic grip tape, stud sections, deck screws, truss screws, washers, and a butane torch for attaching the assembly to the wall. To save time, we took advantage of Home Depot's free pipe cutting services. The process involved assembling the pipe components into the desired shape, wrapping the pull-up bar with grip tape, mounting 2x4 sections across studs in the wall using deck screws, preparing canvas strapping for attaching the assembly to the 2x4 pieces, and replacing some expensive unions with couplings.
