Pull Handle

My girlfriend needed a pair of handles, on a rope, for her physical therapy after her shoulder replacement surgery.  I went looking for a pull handle and after spending 2 hours trying to get the model to print nicely, I designed my own. This should work for many of your pull handle needs.  Broken handle on your Lawnmower, snow blower, leaf blower, etc.?  Try this handle.  Need a pull handle for your attic access door?  Try this handle.  Need a new handle for your door?  This handle might not be for you…The model is currently configured for a 7mm rope diameter; however, you can change the diameter in the Fusion360 model and generate a new 3mf file for printing.  Or tie a larger knot in the rope.Print NotesThis handle should be printed in the orientation shown in the model, i,e, bottom down.  I turn on supports, set the style to “Snug” and check “Support on Build Plate Only.”  This provides some minor support for the inside of the handle where the hole steps down in diameter, it will probably print fine without, you do you :) Printing with a 0.4mm nozzle at .2mm layer height, the curve of the handle feels very nice against your fingers.  I've also printed the handle using variable layer height.  Start where the sides of the handle transition from vertical walls to a curve, and I set the layer height to .07mm.  Return to normal height for printing the neck of the handle, and again step down the layer height to have a curve on the tip of the handle.  This isn't necessary, but it does make the handle feel very very nice.Using a .4mm nozzle, layer height a 0.2mm with no other modifications, print time is 1H44MUsing a .4mm nozzle, layer height at 0.2mm with variable layer height as listed above is: 2H46MModel NotesI've included the Fusion360 model file.  There are parameters that will adjust the dimensions of the handle, allowing you to change the size of the handle, and the hole for the diameter of the rope.  I've found the default handle sizes are great, you may wish to adjust the diameter for the rope hole.  This is the “RopeHoleDiameter” parameter.
