Pull-chain Finials for Ceiling Fan
thingiverse
If you struggle to recall which pullchain operates the ceiling fan and which powers the light, install these finials - the dangling components at the end of the chain, and yank precisely. I coincidentally possessed two distinctly sized pullchains, therefore there is a locking mechanism for each size. To secure these pieces in place, print them without supports; although this demands some cleaning up around the lock-pocket on the light bulb side, I'm fairly certain that they will require even more cleansing with supports. To install the pullchain, apply a small amount of silver paint to the area surrounding the light bulb thread, pass each component through an object, snap the suitable locking mechanism onto the end of the chain, and then gently pull it back through to ensure the lock is securely seated. If you need help, remember that these pieces were designed without considering exact measurements. You can edit their height by accessing the OpenSCAD source or scale them in your 3D printer's software if a different size appears more appealing to you. When working with the 30mm-tall design found within the STL files, bear in mind that the chain holes and lock remain unchanged, despite scaling adjustments made elsewhere.
