The Church of Saint John the Baptist, also known as Saint John of the Kings, features a Mudéjar apse barely visible from the square, a single-nave body covered with Baroque vaults in the 18th century, and a three-story tower. It is a Romanesque church dating back to the 12th-13th centuries. It is one of the eleven documented parishes in 1250. Since it is attached to the wall, this church has been the subject of various interpretations. It appears certain that it was the wall that adapted to the original structure of the church, leaving its Mudéjar tower converted into a cube-shaped section of the wall through which passed the walkway. At its base lies a Baroque chapel and above it, an arched chamber, the structure of the tower itself. The upper part is topped with a gallery featuring Escurial-style balls and a 16th-century balustrade, along with an octagonal spire made of slate, both in the style of the Baroque era. At its peak, double arches can still be seen, remnants of the original Mudéjar apse from the adjacent palace with clear references to having been connected to it.
