PUERTA IGLESIA SAN PEDRO - VIANA
sketchfab
Iglesia built in the 13th century. The first church to rise in the village was St. Peter's, at a strategic location, the western flank of the walled enclosure, equipped with a barbican and a powerful tower. Its defensive origins persisted during the French invasion and in the First Carlist War, being used as a barracks. This, combined with its precarious situation on a slope and the fact that major expansions were made in the 18th century, damaging its main walls, motivated the church to be in ruins by 1842. It collapsed two years later and disappeared as a parish in 1877. Several structures remain standing: a lateral nave, part of its apse, the transept, the tower, largely dismantled in 1979, and the baroque entrance portal. 3D Model Updated 07/05/2020
