Puerta de Alcalá - Madrid
myminifactory
Welcome to Madrid! The Puerta de Alcalá is a stunning Neo-classical monumental arch located in downtown Madrid, Spain. It's renowned as the first modern post-Roman triumphal arch built in Europe, predating iconic monuments like Paris' Arc de Triomphe and Berlin's Brandenburg Gate. Originally serving as the entrance to Madrid from nearby Alcalá de Henares, it earned its name from this historic significance. Commissioned by King Carlos III of Spain, who sought to modernize and beautify Madrid, this majestic arch was a testament to his vision. A bronze plaque proudly displays "REGE CAROLO III ANNO MDCCLXXVIII," Latin for "King Charles III Year 1778." MiniWorld is thrilled to bring this captivating model to life!
