This tool allows you to mark holes or scratch soft materials. In my case, as the drill is a high hardness cutter that was broken, I can scratch even metals or glass. The screw cap (M16) covers the inner cavity of the tool which can be used to store other bits. The inner thread has enough clearance for the cap to screw on easily. I've used the tool for a few months now and it's quite robust.
