PTZ Battery Power Supply

PTZ Battery Power Supply

I acquired a remote controlled PTZ camera last spring for my audio/video business. It came with an AC power supply that was not suitable for my application. The PTZ camera is mounted to a 10ft tall tripod that I use to position the camera up high. What I needed was a battery pack that would eliminate running AC power to the camera. The camera operates on DC voltage, ranging from 12 to 28 volts, so I selected a 22.2V Lithium Ion battery pack and then connected it to a voltage/power regulator set for 18V. It functions perfectly and provides short circuit protection as well as low voltage cutoff to conserve the expensive battery pack. The battery is quite substantial and I have operated the camera for 5+ hours with ample power reserve. I designed this enclosure to house the large battery, the voltage regulator, power switch, Anderson Power Pole connectors for charging as well as an output power connector. The box simply attaches to the tripod and sits at the bottom of the vertical shaft.
