PTT cover for a Tyt MD-2017
thingiverse
This is a STL file for the PTT cover replacement that I came up with. Not having a real PTT to measure up, I'm sure it's different from the actual thing, but when printed in flexible TPU filament, it gets the job done. Disclaimer: I'm not you, so I'm not responsible for your use of cyanoacrylate glue and what you've stuck together with it. Using the OEM cover is best, of course, but my local ham shop can't get parts and I was stone-walled by the supplier I contacted. A couple of tips: 1. Clamp your radio gently, PTT up, so it won't be moving about while you're working on it. 2. Put the CA glue on a disposable clean and dry working surface, such as a piece of foil or a yogurt lid. 3. Apply the CA glue lightly to the black PTT seal in the radio with a toothpick tip. Don't use too much like I did. 4. Place your new PTT cover onto the PTT seal and press it home gently. 5. Enjoy a tasty beverage while you wait for the CA to cure. See your bottle for setting times. Alternatively, leave it to sit overnight and do something else.
