PTFE tube holder

PTFE tube holder

prusaprinters

A simple guide to hold the PTFE tubes from my Prusa MMU2 through an Ikea Lack table. This has the added benefit that I no longer need the filament buffer, as the rewound filament has plenty of space to go without tangling (see pictures).

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

15%

Filament: Prusa PETG Orange

Notes:

The same stuff the printer is made from.

Post-Printing =============
Construction

Drill five 8mm holes in the top of the IKEA Lack table. (I drilled mine at 95, 185, 275, 365 and 455 mm. 25mm from the edge.) Insert the printed guides, as the Lack table is mostly hollow on the inside. glue these guides to the top of the table. Turn the table over.
Insert a PTFE tube in one of the guides. Insert the protruding bit in the PTFE holder. Now guide and holder are aligned. Put (epoxy-) glue on the holder and glue it to the underside of the table (with the PTFE tube still keeping the guide and holder aligned). You can use three small screws to fix the holder in place. Do this for all five guides/holders and turn the table over.
Place the printer on top of the table. Slide the long PTFE tubes from your MMU2 through the guide and the holder. Insert filament from underneath the table in the PTFE tume and into the MMU2.

Happy printing!

Category: 3D Printer Accessories
