PTFE Tube Cap with Filament Holder
thingiverse
I have a drybox that uses PTFE tube to route the filament directly to my printer. When not in use, I needed a convenient way to seal the PTFE tube to keep moisture from getting into the box. I also wanted something that would securely grab hold of the filament so it wouldn't slide back up into the tube, forcing me to open the box unnecessarily. While searching for solutions on Thingiverse, I discovered several PTFE tube caps available, but only one captured the filament as well. Unfortunately, this design didn't perform effectively. So, I designed my own solution that features flexible arms inside the cap which latch securely onto the filament. 2018-07-30: I updated the design to address issues in the F360 source file, reduced wall thickness, and parameterized a few aspects for improved customization options.
