PT Cruiser for DAZ Studio 3D model
cgtrader
The Chrysler PT Cruiser, a retro-styled compact car introduced in 2000 as a 5-door hatchback and later as a 2-door convertible in 2005, was initially conceptualized as a Plymouth model. However, it received the Chrysler nameplate before the anticipated discontinuation of the Plymouth brand in 2001. The PT Cruiser's name is an initialism for "Personal Transport," representing its platform and production code. In 2005, a four-seat convertible model was added, featuring a two-door design with an integrated sport bar for enhanced rigidity and rollover protection. This innovation also facilitated better air circulation for rear seat passengers. Following Chrysler's reorganization in 2009, the company decided to discontinue the model only in Canadian and Mexican markets, with production ending on July 9, 2010. A total of 1.35 million units were produced worldwide. As a DAZ Studio prop, the PT Cruiser features dsf, duf/png files and comprises 98,578 polygons. It includes various controls like a Pose Control dial on the Body to rotate the wheels, turn the steering wheel, open and close the trunk and hood, operate the sunroof, and manage the doors and windows. The model comes with five metal textures for the body (blue, gold, green, red, silver) and five license plate textures (Maryland, Florida, New York, Michigan, Maryland 2), all mapped to simulate raised lettering on the plates. A bump map is also included for tire tread detailing. Designed for DAZ Studio 4.9 and above with Iray shaders, this PT Cruiser model is not recommended for use in other software programs. All sales images are rendered in DAZ Studio using an HDRI skydome environment.
