PSU Relay Module Housing for Pi Octoprint I'm running a Tax 6 with enclosure + LED lighting connected to a Raspberry Pi that's got Octopi/Octoprint up and running. The relay module controls power for both the Taz 6 and enclosure lighting, making it super easy to turn everything on and off. For my Ultimaker 2+ with its built-in lighting, I just need to control the power to the printer itself using a single channel relay. I made two different enclosures: one smaller one that houses the single-channel relay module, and a larger one that fits both the relay module and a 120-12v LED powersupply. I followed this tutorial: Turn Your 3D Printer On/off Using Octoprint The tutorial says to use a 5v GPIO pin for power, but I used the 3.3v GPIO pin instead because I found that using 5v is too much and the relay wouldn't work properly. The LED PSU is connected to the 120v input after passing through the relay, so it turns on and off with the printer - no extra relay or power socket needed! You can buy a 5v relay module like mine on AMAZON: 5v Relay Module for Arduino, EBAY: 5v Arduino One 1 Channel Relay, or ALIEXPRESS: low level relay module. The markings on my relay say: 常开 (cháng kāi) means "normally open" 公共端 (gōnggòng duān) means "common" 常闭 (cháng bì) means "normally closed" For the LED PSU, check out AMAZON: 12V 2A AC Adapter. I used 18 gauge wire to patch between the cable and the LED PSU. You can get a T-Tap Electrical Crimp Connector like this on AMAZON. To connect the wire to the GPIO pins on the Pi and relay, I used Dupont Male/Female Pin Connectors from AMAZON. For the connectors and socket, I went with ALIEXPRESS: Male Female Plugs. The screws that hold everything together are #6 x 3/4 in Sheet Metal Screws.
