I'm developing a pseudo Sumo design that doesn't fit within the standard Mini Sumo rules, primarily due to its size limitations of 100mm x 100mm. The goal is to create a platform for functionality testing and programming of sensors and components. The design draws inspiration from Push-E, with a focus on simplicity in connecting batteries. It utilizes cheap yellow plastic gear motors widely available. A battery box has been added recently but remains untested; I've used a pre-made four-battery enclosure holder as a prototype and haven't integrated the printed version yet. The Arduino sketch is still under development, but it will be uploaded once basic functions are completed. Two IR line following sensors ensure the Sumo stays within the dohyo boundaries, while two digital IR sensors track the opponent's movements. It makes sense to replace these with analogue sensors for refining tracking and hunting algorithms. Print Settings: - Printer Brand: RepRap - Printer: Prusa i3 - Rafts: No - Supports: No - Resolution: 0.3mm - Infill: 25% Notes: The holes in the models are tight due to my use of screws instead of bolts for assembly, as the screw thread bites into PLA material. Nuts and bolts would be preferable on a real fighting Sumo for better mechanical hold.
