I made these custom stands to keep my PlayStation upright, blocking its side exhaust when it's vertical. I had to get creative after hearing that the normal stand could cause problems with the bottom of the console. It takes a significant amount of force for the PlayStation to fall over on its new stand. After hours of playing Killzone, the console fan was no louder and produced no extra heat buildup than it would in a horizontal position.
