PS2 Fat Hard Drive Tray
thingiverse
This is my take on a method to stabilize the hard drive in the PS2 Fat. Some of the other ideas on here are good but in my view rather overcomplicated by trying to use the HDD mounting holes to secure the drive. I've tried a few and while they work they're difficult to print the little pins cleanly such that they don't snap off in the HDD. They're simply too fragile and also really don't solve the issue of the drive sliding forward and off the sata/ide connector. Instead, this tray simply fills in the extra space in the HDD slot around the HDD to keep the drive from shifting left/right and up/down as well as stopping it from sliding too far into the drive bay and disconnecting from the network adapter. It doesn't block any ventilation and allows the drive to still be easily removable. Print in any material and layer height. Id recommend black to avoid possibly seeing color through the front vents. This was tested on an SCPH-30000 series PS2. If there are any fitment issues caused by other revisions that somehow tweaked the size of the bay let me know and if possible by how much and I can alter the model for you. I am also providing the F3D and step files in case you want to tweak it yourself. Should be relatively easy due to the simple geometry.
