Próceres Puertorriqueños (Puerto rican Historial Figures) Part 1
thingiverse
We launched this project as part of my 3D Printing course. The idea was to combat the lack of diversity on platforms like Thingiverse by creating lithophanes featuring iconic historical figures from Puerto Rico's rich history. Drawing inspiration from Josh Ajima's pioneering '0 Things' initiative, we set out to create a series of lithophanes showcasing 11 pivotal figures in Puerto Rican history. Our goal was clear: to inject some much-needed diversity into the content on 3D printing model repositories like Thingiverse. As an educator and advocate for STEM education, Josh Ajima conceived '0 Things' as a rallying cry for creators everywhere. The project's mission is simple: encourage talented individuals to bring their ideas to life in 3D models that address topics often overlooked by the online community. In our case, we identified a clear opportunity to highlight Puerto Rico's fascinating history through lithophanes of its most influential figures. By doing so, we're sending a powerful message to fellow Puerto Ricans and enthusiasts alike: our heritage matters, and it deserves to be celebrated through 3D printed masterpieces.
