PruSaw *BETA* - The Extruder Motion Visualizer
prusaprinters
Our Prusa MK3S+ Machines are state of the art in their software approach to 3D printing. From crash detection to thermal runaway, it's nearly impossible for these machines to create an unsafe workspace…. How boring. I decided it was time to spice things up, and hopefully this will keep me from messing with my prints while they're printing. Introducing: The PruSaw This is the Beta version of the product, and is 85% functional. I can't spend any more time on it for now, so I am posting my unfinished work for the world to see! The double pulley has just a gram or two too much friction, keeping the belt from pulling it. Every other part of this works, so a couple little redesigns and I think we will have a functioning product! You have to use 7 x M2 20mm nuts and bolts, the rest is printed in PETG, PLA, and TPU. I figure assembly is pretty self explanitory if you are wanting to print out of curiosity. Or use it for inspiration. Or whatever, it's public domain go wild! I made a version with a spring inside the first pulley and one without. They both appear to work, however without the spring tends to be more reliable. I may play around with that along with the double pulley to see if I can reduce friction further. **Tolerances are made for 3D printing, but layer lines can cause friction in the pulleys. It is recommended you take some 800 grit sandpaper and smooth all the pulley rods before assembly. If you would like to see some footage of it, check out my TikTok @Joshuaisodd **This page is a work in progress, I am trying to manage my task better and part of that means accepting that sometimes things are a work in progress and that shouldn't keep me from sharing my works :-). Please let me know if you have any questions or would like me to look at your version to update the main project files :-), this can be a community project!
