Prusament Spool Knife Block
prusaprinters
OK, this is only about two years too late for the Upcycling Prusament contest. Using a standard Prusament spool, you just snap on the feet right into the convenient haxagonal holes, and snap in the slot pieces wherever you need for your particular knives. For positioning knives over the center, just cut out slots right out of the cardboard core. (If you don't like the cardboard look, I've also included a printable core with pre-positioned slots.)Before assembling, to may need to first pull your spool apart and reorient the two sides so that they line up exactly. (You can use the slots in the center hole as a guide.) The feet should press snugly into the hexagonal holes around the perimeter, but if they are a little loose you can use a little superglue to secure them. Use the photos as a guide to see exactly which hex holes to use. To insert the slots, flex the perimeter of the spool sides apart and then press them onto the hexagonal nubs on either end of the slots.
