Prusament PET-G Clamp Optimized
thingiverse
While mastering Autodesk Generative Design in Fusion 360, I required a sample part to test the workflow, so I decided that the Prusament PET-G Clamp could benefit from some optimization. I based my dimensions on the original Prusament PET-G Clamp to compare their strength and print time, ensuring the parts are interchangeable. Depending on your print settings, this C-Clamp prints faster than the original and uses approximately 20% less material. More importantly, it can exert significantly higher clamping force with minimal deformation. While optimizing the clamp, I also redesigned the Screw spindle as the original was uncomfortable to use and the thread didn't print well. I added fillets and chamfers to reduce stress concentrations. I uploaded normal resolution STL's for both the clamp and screw, along with some High Quality ones (HQ suffix), which are larger but contain more detail. If you end up printing one, please share your pictures!
