Prusa Thermal Enclosure

Prusa Thermal Enclosure

thingiverse

This is a thermal enclosure for Prusa 3D printer. You mount a pair of these clips on the printer top frame (see photo), then make a rectangular wire frame from a clothes hanger, insert the wire in the the holes of the clips (see photo), then use a shirt to wrap around the front part of the printer. You can use a sheet of cloth or plastic if you don't want to use a shirt. Generally one shirt (just cover the front part of the printer) is sufficient. Bending the wire: Make a U-shape with the two legs being about 6 inches (152 mm) and the base of the U is about 8 inches (203 mm). Make two of the U-shape wire if you want to cover front and back of the printer. It is easier to insert the U-shape wire into the clips first and then install it on the printer frame. This solves the "print bed temperature runaway error" problem during cold weather. It also works as an enclosure when you print ABS kind of material.
