Prusa spool holder

Prusa spool holder

I was being a bit too fussy, but I just couldn't find any spool holders that really caught my eye. And the ones I liked weren't designed with my wooden Prusa in mind. Most of my filament spools are 20 cm in diameter, so I made the holder adjustable to accommodate smaller spools. It can fit spools up to 100mm wide. I actually have two different sets of holders - one called 5_5mm that fits my Geeetech Prusa i3 wood and another called 8mm that fits the Geeetech Prusa i3 acrylic. To get started, you'll need to print the two holders and two spools at minimum. While it's not essential to print the spacers, I highly recommend doing so for the longevity of the bearings. In addition to the printed parts, you'll also need 2 rods - I designed them with 8mm in mind. You'll also require 4 ball bearings; I specifically designed for 608zz, but I'm sure you can find suitable alternatives. To keep the bearings in place, I recommend using M8 nuts on the threaded rod or, if you prefer, some kind of lock mechanism - like the ones I printed out of TPU for testing purposes.
