Human Designers created a new X-Carriage specifically tailored for the Prusa Rework, whether using the 1.0 or 1.5 model, this X-Carriage is designed with compatibility in mind to pair perfectly with the extended LM8LUU linear bearings (measuring at 8x15x45mm). You have an option of incorporating 4 x LM8UU bearings, but these might protrude slightly from the surface. The carriage block itself boasts a remarkable blend of robustness and simplicity. To further secure the bearings within their holes, designers chose to utilize press-fitting followed by retaining them using 4 x M3-10mm screws along with M3 washers for added reinforcement. Installation of this new X-Carriage requires dismantling both your X and Z axes. At the rear portion of the block are strategically designed recessed holes tailored to house socket head cap screws. To complete installation, you will require 4 x M4-30mm socket head cap screws, which serve to attach your extruder. Another requirement includes two M3-20mm socket head cap screws used for securing the X-axis belt in place. It is through these 2x M3 screws that each end of the X-carriage belt gets securely fastened: You create a loop by bringing one end of the belt back to meet the other, but make sure the teeth are facing inward. Ideally, this loop should span about 18-20mm in length. Next, use zip-ties at both ends of the loop to clamp it into place before threading an M3 screw through the center of the loop for securing purposes. This same process is repeated on the opposite end of the belt after tensioning it securely.
