Prusa Printer Lights Dual-LED Lamp
thingiverse
This set is a custom mount for Prusa Printers that holds two LED Lamp panels with a power switch. The switch enables the lamps to illuminate the print surface, allowing users to see what they're printing in real-time. To assemble this setup, you'll need to print three parts: the bar mount bracket, the switch plate, and two lamp arms. The LED lamp panels are simple 12v 48 SMD 40mm stick-on panels that can be purchased on eBay or Amazon as commodity parts. The round rocker switch used in this design is also readily available on these online marketplaces. To complete the setup, you'll need a few additional components: two M3x5 screws and two M3x10 screws for securing the lamp arms to the print head. A 1/4 or 1/2W 10 ohm resistor is required to prevent overheating of the LEDs. Female crimp contacts are needed for the switch, while crimp lugs will be used to connect the power supply. Zip-ties were also employed in this design to secure cables as shown in the photo. To wire up the setup, follow the provided schematic and then connect it to the Prusa 24V power supply. Note that polarity is crucial - if any of the LEDs are reversed, they won't light up. Simply reverse them to correct the issue. Remember to turn off your printer before connecting the LED module to its power supply. Enjoy your illuminated print surface!
