Prusa MMU Mini Buffer - Version 1

Prusa MMU Mini Buffer - Version 1

thingiverse

The Prusa MMU buffer has never impressed me as being very practical, so I decided to design my own alternative. After several iterations, I came up with the mini buffer. Simply attach it to the end of your MMU PTFE tube using a bowden connector and watch as the filament unspools into a loop. When you need the filament again, it simply spools back in. There's no need for auto-rewinding spool holders or anything else. You can optionally use two lengths of PTFE tubing if you think that the filament isn't feeding correctly without it. To make this work, you'll need a bowden connector and a 608 bearing which fits snugly between the two halves of the wheel.
