Are you fed up with 3D printing? Want to switch to 2D? This holder accommodates a custom drag knife I designed for the Prusa Mk3s, allowing you to cut vinyl effortlessly. For me, creating stickers for my scuba tanks was a breeze, and I'm excited to share this design with you. To attach the holder to your hotend fan shroud, follow these steps: 1. Print the bracket using PETG at 35% fan speed and a slow pace. 2. Secure the bracket firmly to prevent it from moving around during printing. Note: The fan bracket is thin and might stick to PETG, so be patient and print slowly. When not cutting, you can leave the bracket attached to your printer, but remove the drag knife to avoid any obstructions. To get started, you'll need: * This design * Inkscape (free software) * J-Tech laser tool plugin for Inkscape to generate G-code * A suitable cutter (I recommend this affordable option) Optional: Consider investing in a dedicated print bed plate with a tack pad to ensure uniform vinyl adhesion and prevent the knife from cutting through the build plate. For a smooth cutting experience, watch this video tutorial that helped me immensely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuWZWAfBsm8 Before cutting, remember to edit the laser.py file and include the "W" command in your G28 sequence. This will prevent the printer from autoleveling the bed and damaging the bracket. Here's my customized header and footer for the laser.py file: 'header': """\r\nG28 W\r\nG90\r\nG0 Z20\r\nM117 Cutting...\r\n""",\r\n'footer': """\r\nG0 Z20\r\nG0 X0 Y210 F10200; present bed\r\nM18\r\nM117 Done.\r\n"""
