This is a comprehensive redesign of the MMU2S Print Buffer System to relocate the five spools directly above the printer, along with an innovative rear-mounted vertical buffer system. By doing so, it significantly conserves space, fitting neatly within a 56cm x 56cm (22" x 22") footprint that perfectly fits inside an IKEA Lack enclosure stacked twice, except for the Mk3S control panel which protrudes slightly. It also greatly simplifies the process of feeding new filament. The MMU2S feed tubes are significantly shortened to under 10CM, and there is ample space for fingers to comfortably feed filament into the MMU2S rollers. Moreover, the feed from the spools is relatively effortless with a spacious area that allows hands to easily maneuver. This innovative solution has been thoroughly tested with PLA, ABS, and PETG materials. Although TPU also works effectively, it requires further testing for complete validation. Any material that can be curled into a 9cm (3.5") diameter circle should theoretically work without any issues.
