Prusa MK3s Light Nozzle R4

Today I modified the R4 nozzle on my MK3s. This is something I've done before with the R3 because it bothered me that you see nothing when printing directly under the extruder. (Https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3300614) The nozzle I used is from the current version, R4. To make this conversion, you'll need to get a few extra things: 2x white 5mm LEDs with at least 18000mcd 1x 1KOhm resistor (possibly 1.2KOhm, depending on your LEDs) some thin cables that are long enough to reach the Einsy board a soldering iron and a steady hand 2x open cable lugs - these can't be damaged and you should use something nice because the LEDs will be hanging directly on 24V Assembly: As you can see in the pictures, all you need to do is insert the LEDs into the holes and then grind them down with a file or sandpaper until they're flush with the nozzle. This has the effect of increasing the scattering angle of the LEDs from just under 60° to over 130°, so instead of just seeing bright points below the LED, you'll see a wider area. To connect the LEDs, I used a parallel circuit, where + is connected to + and - is connected to -. This way, even if your LEDs have different leg lengths (long + and short -), they will still work correctly. The nozzle has a small cable channel that makes it easy to pull the wires of one LED over to connect with the other. If two cables won't fit through, you can also pull the ground line of the LED through. There's a small resistor holder at the nozzle end, and then all you need to do is integrate the cables into the harness (I did this when I updated my MK3s), crimp or solder proper cable lugs (in my case, open ones), check the polarity again before connecting, and then plug them directly into the 24V connections on the Einsy board. I used the middle two because they're for the heating bed, but you can also make a switch if you want. That's it!
