Prusa MK3S Filament Sensor Cover Upgrade with dust collector box designed with sacrificial layer
thingiverse
I printed MatsErik's original design without support, and my printer produced some weird artifacts inside the sponge box which I couldn't remove completely. Because I want to be sure that no debris is getting into the extruder from the sponge box, I redesigned it with a sacrificial layer. This basically means I added a 0.2mm cover onto the hole of the sponge box, so the printer will not try to print a hole mid-air, rather it would fully cover the square part as a bridge, and build the hole from the next layer. This is a very thin layer of plastic that must be removed after printing! **You have to drill through the sacrificial layer after printing this model, don't start using it right away!** I also attached MatsErik's original cover for completeness.
