Prusa MK3 Simple Spool Holder Bearing

I wanted to enhance the plastic input to my extruder because with the original spool holder from Prusa, the spool wobbles slightly due to friction between the spool and holder. After a quick search yielded thousands of ideas, most utilizing steel bearings in some way. Since the Prusa holder is quite sturdy, I wanted to keep it intact, requiring only an upgrade. A short time later, after searching for 3D printed bearings, I employed this concept from Qube3Bot on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2543414) to create the upgrade part. Few Steps 1. Detach all bearing parts carefully. 2. Slide them into the spool holder part; it should be a tight fit. 3. Done! Unnecessary steps: 4. Rub a wax candle on the bearing to eliminate clanky plastic sounds. 5. To improve grip between the spool and bearing, wrap an elastic band around it (pic 1). 6. If the bearing moves side to side, secure it with a zip tie or another elastic band (pic 2). Happy spool spinning!
