Prusa Mk3 Right X Carriage Z mount & Bucket
thingiverse
I needed a mount on my Prusa Mk3 on the right-hand side X carriage, specifically the idler side. I chose not to disassemble either the X or Y axes, so I designed this clip instead. This clip isn't meant for carrying heavy loads; it's more suited for holding a camera. Its primary purpose is to be printed quickly and efficiently. The bucket attached to the mount serves as an experiment with my Palette2 printer. On my Mk3, I noticed that the nozzle barely clears the bed on the right-hand side by about 3-4mm. To install the clip: 1. Print all the necessary parts. 2. If using the bucket, cover the top and the ramp with aluminum foil to prevent adhesion issues. 3. Attach the mount to the idler by placing the small toothed clip underneath it. The fit will be snug, requiring some pressure to secure it in place. 4. Insert an M3 nut into the slot on the mount and attach the arm using two M3 12mm SHC screws. 5. Mount the bucket loosely by sliding it over the arm and passing a single M3 12mm SHC screw through the hole, then add another M3 nut to secure it from the other side. 6. Align the bucket so that it's just touching the build plate when Z is at zero. The bucket should be positioned above the build plate. 7. Inform your software that the side transition is set at X254 (or adjust according to your printer specifications).
