Prusa MK3 & MK3S Clip-in Tool Storage Box
thingiverse
I needed a compact side-mounted tool box to store pliers, snips, Allen keys and more for my Prusa MK3S. While several options are available on Thingiverse, none met my specific requirements. I also wanted the tool box to be easily removable and clip in/out, rather than being screwed into place. Here's a solution that meets these needs. Since the tool box is located within a couple of centimeters from the heated bed, I strongly recommend using PETG or ABS for printing. Prusa Orange filament looks great and blends perfectly with the original machine design. The tool box is fully reversible, but the lid isn't, so I've provided two different versions: one for left-handed use and another for right-handed users. The tool box clips into the frame using three clips inspired by other designs on Thingiverse. There are small holes in both the tool box and lid that accommodate 4mm x 1mm neodymium magnets (super glued in place). These magnets hold the lid securely in place and prevent vibration; however, they're not essential to the design's functionality.
