As I attempt to enclose my printer, space constraints become apparent, particularly when utilizing an Ikea Lack table as the primary support structure. The cable routing issue at the rear of the case poses a significant problem, necessitating an alternative bed cover design that effectively manages cables. For my 3D printing setup, which incorporates a Haribo/Zaribo machine, I determined that a 90-degree cover was essential to ensure efficient cable management. I have been utilizing a cover from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2837970) but encountered issues during calibration, as the extruder heater wires consistently became damaged. To address this problem, I decided to create my own custom bed cover from scratch, drawing inspiration from the original Prusa design. Although I haven't had a chance to install and test it yet, I plan to update this post once I have thoroughly evaluated its performance. To mitigate potential issues, I've soldered my cables at an angle and incorporated screw-on connectors, similar to those used in Prusa's design. Update: Installation was successful, and the custom bed cover is functioning as intended. Update 24/08/2018: A larger version of the cover has been added to accommodate testing with screw-in wires. Update 18/10/2018: Step files have been included for easier access.
