Prusa Mk3 Einsy Box Zaribo Adapter
thingiverse
The new Zarbo Einsy box setup is a major improvement over the stock one - larger and with much better cable management. I attempted to modify the original Zarbo to fit within the stock frame, but was unable to make it work due to screw locations being quite frustrating. Therefore, I designed this adapter. This adapter works by bolting into the four holes where the stock box attaches using 4 M3 screws that are 15mm long - a detail shown in photos is the use of 16mm screws which protrude slightly. It then features a slot matching the slot found on the 3030 Aluminum extrusion used by Zaribo, allowing for easy mounting. The Einsy box remains unmodified and is secured with two t-nuts and two M5 screws. Other items designed to fit within a 3030 extrusion should also be compatible. It's essential to note that this adapter must be mounted on the frame before attaching the Einsy box. The slot is precisely 8mm wide, as per Misumi specifications for the 3030 extrusion. However, when printing the Einsy box with supports (which are necessary), I found the "pegs" were slightly wider. Upon further inspection, it appears that interface loops from the supports remained attached and had to be carefully removed. If you encounter similar issues, check the width of the "pegs". They must not exceed 8mm. A photo is included for reference. This print job was completed on a Mk3 using black Hatchbox PETG, Chris Warkocki's Pretty PETG profile, and 20% gyroid fill. Printing with 10% gyroid fill may also be viable. During the initial attempt, I encountered issues with corner lifting. This problem was resolved by printing with a 10mm brim. The design was printed as specified in the STL file, with the side facing the frame downwards for maximum flatness on that surface. Supports were required for the extrusion overhang. It may be possible to print without supports by reversing the orientation, but I have not tested this yet. I'm uncertain if this adapter will fit within a Mk2/2.5 - I do not know if the hole pattern is identical. If someone confirms that it works, please share your findings in the comments section.
