Prusa MK3 and MK2s Reverse Bowden System V2.0
thingiverse
I've completely revamped the reverse Bowden system, making it compatible with MK2s as well. We're moving the spool off the frame and employing a bowden tube as a feeder for the extruder. This innovation eliminates tangles and mechanical issues while enhancing print quality significantly. How? Your extruder experiences minute changes in tension, even with top-notch ball bearings or spools. These fluctuations alter the extrusion width during printing, resulting in uneven horizontal layers. Utilizing a fixed length of filament within a bowden tube keeps resistance as consistent as possible, thereby boosting print quality. I've included an image demonstrating the layer lines you can achieve with precise tuning and a well-executed reverse Bowden setup. You'll need two PC4-M10 couplers and under a meter of 4mm bowden tube, both easily procurable online for purchase. I opted for Capricorn tubes and discovered the couplers on Amazon. If you desire an even superior setup to secure the bowden tubes to the z-axis, consider Christophers Z-axis tops featuring integrated holders. This is what I'm using, and it far surpasses my initial design.
