Prusa Mk2s two-piece filament guide
thingiverse
I abandoned my original approach because it was too delicate. I liked Justanotherguy's design for a filament guide. A two-part guide can be twisted apart to thread in new filament and is simple to print. I re-designed the part to work seamlessly with a top-mounted LCD panel and optimized the thickness to ensure rock-solid prints. I also added a small tab to guarantee the guide clips securely into place and won't vibrate loose. * This part has been thoroughly tested on the Original Prusa i3 Mk2S, where the top frame measures 40mm x 6.25mm. * There is an ample 30mm clearance between the top of the Prusa frame and bottom of the guide - more than enough for the OEM extruder to reach its maximum calibration height without any interference. * The guide is centered ~40mm in front of the frame and is 10mm deep, providing excellent alignment with the filament entry on the OEM extruder * The guide measures 30mm wide, allowing some filament flexibility. * Most of the part is 4mm thick, while key sections are ~6mm thick for added strength. * Download a single file to print mirror images or download both files.
