Prusa MK2 x-carriage with 623 bearings
thingiverse
I've modified the Prusa MK2 x-carriage using standard 623 ball bearings. This carriage glides smoothly without any backlash on slightly rough smooth rods. It fits perfectly to the Prusa MK2 extruder body. A few modifications were made to the original Prusa OpenSCAD files, and I'm including the source code as required by the GPL license. The modified OpenSCAD files rely on some files from the Prusa Git repository (bearing.scad, extruder-body.scad, extruder-main.scad, and polyholes.scad). Check out this video for a closer look at the carriage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIb5Wdu50xA The carriage was printed with ABS material using a 0.2mm layer height, three perimeters, and 45% infill density.
