Prusa Mini Tool Holder
prusaprinters
Remixed from https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/32948-prusa-mini-tool-holder I wanted a larger tool holder with space for my calipers. I redesigned the entire thing using OpenSCAD as a way to learn how to use it, changing the mounting system in the process; but I got the idea for the tool holder from there so they deserve credit. At last print, I had to warm up the back piece with a lighter in order to get it to fit (near where the Z motor wires run down the extrusion). It was really tight given the angle it has to go on at, you kind of have to hinge it over the round screw part that sits on top of the extrusion at the front side of the printer. I've since moved the part called "back ledge" in by a couple of mm to allow a little more clearance that should get around this problem, but I haven't bothered to print it again as I managed to get the last print working well enough. If you do print it, please let me know how it works for you. It sits on there really well at the moment and doesn't wobble or move at all. It doesn't require any modification to the existing printer parts. I was wondering if there would be an issue with the X motor cables catching on it when printing really tall prints but having raised and lowered the Z all the way a few times this doesn't seem to be a problem. OpenSCAD file is included. It's hardly parametric but it shouldn't be too hard to adjust the height, remove the caliper holder, change the dividers etc. Print instructionsI used 0.3mm layer height with supports to get the top piece to work and used a couple of carefully positioned blockers in Prusaslicer to prevent them from being added to the inside of the compartment.
