Printed without supports with the legs facing up.

You can easily extend or shorten the length of the covers to your liking using Thinkercad or a similar 3D modelling tool.

Optional hardware for use with Ikea USB led lamp

We use a small Ikea USB lamp to illuminate the build plate and use this design to cover it’s wires. The USB lamp can be powered directly from the Prusa Mini. No need for additional power adapters. Lamp: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/jansjoe-led-usb-lamp-black-50291233/

The wire (InLine 34650B USB 2.0) for the USB extension from the Ikea USB lamp to the USB port is 50 cm (1.64 foot) long. This applies to the Prusa Mini. The cable is available at the time of writing: https://amzn.to/2YEUUll

We also use a 90 degree USB dongle (DELOCK - 65522 Adapter) for optimal wire guidance https://amzn.to/3v2eTWR

When placing the covers, leave a 1 cm gap at top and 1 cm gap at the bottom of the Prusa Mini/Mini+ to allow the USB extension cable to go in and out. It goes without saying it is better to put the USB extension cable in the profile first before inserting the covers.

History

25-08-2021 - Added the optional USB-to-USB extension plate for the Ikea USB lamp

18-07-2021 - First public release

Made with love from Amsterdam.
